Matthew T. Cook
Matthew T. Cook, a native of Sanpete County, Utah returned to his roots where he grew up on his father’s Turkey Ranch and went to work for Moroni Feed Company in 2006. First, as the Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance followed by VP of Food Safety, VP of Processing and in April of 2011 was named President and CEO of Moroni Feed Company and Norbest. Prior to returning to MFC, Matthew held positions of leadership in the Grocery, Restaurant and Hospitality industries. Matthew also serves on the board of directors for the Utah Council of Farmers Cooperatives, Utah Manufacturers Association, and Norbest. At the 2012 Annual Convention for the National Turkey Federation held in February, Matthew was elected to the Board of Directors and appointed to the Executive Committee. Matthew holds an undergraduate degree in Business Management as well as an MBA. He currently resides in Chester, Utah with his wife and four (4) children.
Moroni Feed Company was founded as a farmer owned cooperative in 1938 and began marketing its turkey products under the Norbest label in the 1940’s. In Feb of 2010 MFC took complete control of Norbest Inc. as MFC was its last contributing Processor. MFC is made up of 43 independent family owned farms that currently produce approximately 4.8 million turkeys annually. Norbest was founded in 1930 and is the oldest marketing cooperative of its type in the world.
Bob Wangerien has been with Norbest since 2013 and serves as Senior VP of Sales and Marketing. He is responsible for all sales and marketing activities to support the strategic direction and growth of Norbest’s Foodservice and Retail Divisions. With over 25 years of poultry marketing and management experience, Bob has a vast knowledge of the industry and Norbest’s unique position in the marketplace.
Before joining the Norbest team, Bob worked for Foster Farms in Livingston, California. During his tenure there he directed the company’s foodservice business, re-launched the fresh turkey product line and led the growth of the further processed business. Prior to his time at Foster Farms, Bob worked for Cargill’s Honeysuckle White Turkey Division, Rocco, Inc and ConAgra, Inc.
Bob has a BS degree from Clarkson University and an MBA from the University of Georgia. He and his wife Tilda have 5 children.
